Our program will teach young children that eating a variety of
foods is good for you. For children who may be picky eaters, our program creatively incorporates key nutrients
into their favorite foods and snacks, while avoiding sugar-laden, high fat, and processed foods. Because
kids love contests, kids in this program prepare the foods themselves and create colorful displays to present their food creations
to be judged.
Our hope is that through this program, kids will have an understanding of
the types of foods that are healthy for them. Hopefully, they will enjoy making their own healthy snacks
so much that mom is no longer running out for fast food, breaking open the bag of potato chips, or using unhealthy snacks
as bargaining chips.
